Agora International School Madrid offers an extensive programme of sporting, musical, artistic, intellectual and recreational extracurricular activities which are designed to enhance our students’ physical, intellectual and social development. The overall benefits of participating in activities outside the mainstream curriculum are immeasurable but include advantages such as improved time management and personal organisation, a chance to acquire new skills and improve established ones, spending time with friends and classmates in a more relaxed and fun learning environment, and developing skills such as teamwork, co-operation, self-discipline, and self-motivation.

Sporting activities

In addition to the obvious health and fitness benefits, sports help to develop physical skills specific to the particular sport involved, general physical skills such as flexibility, coordination, strength and stamina and a whole range of additional personal traits such as the ability to work effectively as part of a team, cooperative and leadership skills, self-discipline and self-motivation. We offer courses in:

Agora International Sports Club

Our sports teams compete in a variety of different sports, both in friendly competition and in local leagues. We have sports clubs for the following sports:

Performing Arts

The Victor Ullate Roche School of Performing Arts at Agora International School Madrid offers students an unprecedentedly high standard of tuition in dance and the performing arts, taught by Victor Ullate Roche, the Director of this unique and highly-renowned Performing Arts Academy. Agora International School Madrid students get the opportunity to participate in a wide range of Creative and Dramatic arts, participating in classes in Drama, Singing and Theatrical skills. For children who want to try something new, or who show a particular aptitude for performing arts, they could not be in a better place to develop and refine their skills. Classes are also offered in:

  • Bilingual musical theatre (singing, dance and drama)
  • Funky / Hip Hop
  • Ballet (Elementary and Ballet I)

Music School

The Agora International-Fabordón Music School provides our musical students with a professional musical education, starting from eight years old and continuing through to adulthood. The Music school provides structured access to music in all its form; classical, rock, pop, music theory, singing and so on. The Music School is an official examinations centre for the Trinity College London Music Examinations which also enables our rock and pop musicians to gain recognised qualifications in their specific musical disciplines including:

  • 1st and 2nd LOGSE (music theory, instrumental and instrumental group)
  • 3rd and 4th LOGSE (music theory, instrumental, instrumental and choral groups)
  • Music Theory
  • Instrumental classes
  • Combined classes in music theory and instrumental practice
  • Instrumental groups (band, orchestra, chamber groups, etc.)

Art school

Painting and drawing are activities that help to focus the mind and the expressive and creative nature of these activities, helps to develop skills such as concentration, self-discipline and sensitivity. In order to develop these creative capacities, students learn to express their ideas and have fun with their classmates though classes in:

  • Water colours
  • Pastels
  • Charcoal
  • Oil painting


Enthusiasm, creativity, ingenuity and lots of imagination are required by the students who opt for Robotix and pupils have to engage their problem solving and critical thinking skills in order to face the challenges of each mission. Children learn to design, build, program and launch robots.

Workshops are offered in the following areas:

  • Junior Robotics: Scratch, Lego WeDo, Makey-Makey and 3D printing
  • Master Robotics: Mindstorm, App Inventor, 3D printing, Arduino
  • Maker Arduino and bq. Engineering, Mechanics, 3D painting, App Inventor, Python and Raspberry Pi


The after-school language programme is designed to help children to improve understanding and fluency in their chosen language, and explores grammar, syntax and semantics as well as working on fluency, clarity and communication skills.

Courses are offered to Primary and Secondary students in:

  • German
  • French
  • Chinese

Tailor-made programmes

In these tailor-made sessions student can get the individual help and support that they require to fulfil their academic and personal needs. Sessions offer study skills and learning techniques, psychological support or help with difficulties in reading or writing, dyslexia, etc. We can organise session to suit the individual requirements of each student in areas such as:

  • Psychological support
  • Support with learning, study or exam techniques
  • Speech therapy: fluency issues, stuttering, dyslexia, reading and writing, etc
  • Psychomotor skills
  • Workshop – Playing with my baby, for babies from 4 to 24 months and mum & dads
